FAQ

How many instruments can I order?
There are no restrictions on how many you want to order. However, the more you order, the more time Cathy-Ann will need to paint them. So if you think you'll need more than the average 100-150, make sure you've allowed for plenty of paint time! We recommend coming forward with enquiries at least 4-6 months in advance. Rush orders are available where possible.

What sizes do you offer?
Currently we offer 4", 6", 8" and 10" tambourines However we are able to secure 12" on request too. For maracas, 20cm and 15cm. Castanets are one size measuring around 6cm across.

What is the turnaround time? 
Depending on the quantity you've ordered and what design tier you've chosen, the order will take anywhere between 2-6 weeks. 

What are the design tiers?
Our pricing is split into three design tiers, going up in price as the design becomes more detailed. 

Tier 1 is lettering only, no illustration.

Tier 2 is lettering but also a small amount of illustration.
For tambourines this is a simple border (wavy, straight, scalloped, dotted, striped). For maracas and castanets this would be a small icon illustration such as a butterfly, a rose bud, an olive branch. This tier is to add a little something without it taking too long to turnaround. 

Tier 3 is full illustration and lettering, this is the tier for anyone wanting the ultimate wow factor.

Where do you ship and how does it work?
We ship almost all over the world, subject to any restrictions your country may have. Currently we have shipped to: UK, USA, most of Europe, Canada and Australia. Duty fees will apply to almost all countries.
Shipping is calculated when we have the final weight of the parcel, so all pricing before then is an estimate. We use DHL Express and UPS as our go-to couriers. Tracking numbers will always be given. 

T&C's for shipping: We will do everything we can to make sure your parcels always arrive safely and on time, however once a parcel has left the studio we are no longer responsible for what happens during it's journey.
Customs and duties will apply to all parcels leaving the UK, Cathy-Ann will talk you through the requirements to be able to ship without delays.


I want guest names but don't have all my RSVP’s back, when is the latest I can send the guest list?
As long as you have the majority (90%) of your guest names 4-5 weeks before your deadline, we can make this work! Of course, the earlier you can get a completed guest list, the better. But we understand there will always be stragglers and we will accommodate as best as we can to make sure you have everyone accounted for on the big day.

How does payment work?
Unless your order is due in under 5 weeks from our first contact, we will ask for a 50% non-refundable deposit to secure you into the production diary. The remaining amount is due on completion BEFORE shipping. You will be shown plenty of photos and videos of the final work to make sure you're happy before we send the final invoice. 

Can I place a rush order?

If our diary will allow it, yes - this will be subject to an express charge if it is under a 5 week turnaround.
We will also ask for full payment upfront. Your shipping will also need to be adjusted to allow for this faster turnaround too. 

I don't know what design I want!
No problem! Part of our service is the sketches and mock-ups. We'll have a chat about where your wedding/event is being held, what things are really important to you, what your colour scheme is and any florals or design aspects you want included. When we have a good idea of the general vibe, Cathy-Ann will make some sketches for you to look over and decide which design you like best.

If required, Cathy-Ann will paint a mock up for you to see in person before she begins the final paintings. 

Can I order a mock up if I haven't placed an order yet?
Yes! We understand that some clients will want to see and feel the quality of the instruments before committing. We offer these at a small charge which is discussed when we've had a chat.

I've ordered the tambourines myself, can you paint them for me?
Yes - subject to seeing the tambourines ourselves. Some products are harder to paint and sadly we would have to refuse these types.

Cancellations and Refunds
Due to the bespoke nature of our work we cannot accept refunds in any capacity. The deposit must only be made once you are 100% sure and committed to the order. 

We allow a 3 day cooling-off period which allows you to cancel in that time. If your order is due within 4 weeks from ordering, this cooling-off period is reduced to 1 day.
